CCCKang asked:

When’s the best day of the week to launch a website officially via press release? I’m planning to use PRWeb.com
I’m worried that my press release might get buried among all other companies’ releases if I didn’t choose the right day. I’m also worried that no one would read my press release because it’s not the right day of the week.(maybe not that many people read press releases during weekends?)

When do you recommend, especially if I’m releasing through a internet newswire like PRweb?

I can’t tell you for an online source, but I work at a brick and mortar television station and the best day is Monday. The worst possible, Friday.

I work for PRWeb and our editors have learned that midweek is best. Especially Tuesdays and Thursdays.

But this is somewhat of a moot point when using PRWeb since your press release never goes away (unlike email or press releases on standard newswires that get deleted after a while). It maintains its presence in the search engines and elsewhere online, ready and waiting for when consumers and/or journalists search for just such information as is contained in your PR.

It’s also somewhat moot since PRWeb uses RSS to push your information to consumers and media who are monitoring the industry-specific channels you will select for your PR to be distributed to (dependent upon editorial approval). So it automatically bubbles to the top in front of an interested audience since it is already “on topic.”
