How to i know who to contact when I want to release a press release?

I have a brand new website that I want to let others know about. I have released press releases already on sites like digg and PRleap and have emailed hundreds of influential news sites and bloggers. Although traffic has seen an increase, it is not nearly as high as I thought it would be.

I like to find out more about people I can send my press release to that would make a difference. People that are influential and are willing to read the press release. Any thoughts?

One of the best methods to get it out is word of mouth one person will read it and then tell another one about it. I have had to learn the hard way, and I have made so many mistakes with my blog. I have made friends and so called friends with it and lost some people because of it too. So just becareful and you should get some people, do you trust the people to read and comment on what you are writing is the next thing and then remember that anyone can really be anyone on this net. It is a hard thing to get into, but word of mouth is best I think? And keeping up with it can be difficult too.
