I’m trying to do a press release for my new book, it seems to be missing something. I’m not sure. I’ve written one for my first book but it’s, I don’t know…… just different. The feel is off somehow.

If you have publisher he could that for you. Otherwise you have to arrange things yourself. There are publicity agents you might contact. See Writer’s Digest.

Hi there. Press releases are tough cookies if you’re not in the PR business. Why? Because, they need to be informative on the one hand (telling about your book) but also newsworthy on the other. The newsworthy part is where most people get in trouble.

Here’s a link to a great PR piece and a terrific PR website. It’s called PRWeb. You can run your own PR pieces there for as little as $10 and those are distributed via the web to hundreds of other online sites that syndicate the material PRWeb posts on its site. If you bump up your “contribution” to about $80, you will get about 50x the exposure.

Take a look and see what you think. Good luck with your PR work.
