   Call the media and say, “I have a press release.”

   Additional details: You can ultimately email a written press release, but if you want to get it out quickly, you need to let them know it’s coming.

   Yes you could email this press release to various newspapers and press aides in the city. Google newspapers in your city and you will find a list, proceed from there.
