How do I do a press release?

Hi, I have a website for people to learn Chinese for free, and I would like to know how I can submit a press release to journalists. Are there free ways of doing that?

    I know of two ways of doing this, I have done it myself.
    Contact you local newspaper and tell them your story and it is best to point out reasons for you offering this service/website.
    A human interest story usually goes good for the paper especially is it is a service that others can really use.
    or
    you can write a letter to the editor and explain what you have to offer and the reasoning behind your service.
    An example, the need for the Chinese language for your area.

    There are two valuable resources you can use for a press release. Each of these provides you with the exact outline to follow when writing the release. If you need someone to write the news article they can provide that service as well.

    I have used both services and have no complaints.
