1.) When I mail a press release, should I just include the press release in the envelope and nothing else?
2.) When mailing a release, should I put the editor on the envelope or is there someone else I should direct it to?
Thanks!

I regularly send out press releases, and unless I’m including it as part of a larger media kit with physical items that can’t be sent electronically, I always email them. Every editor I work with prefers getting them sent as email, usually as a .doc or .pdf attachment.
Even when I first started out in PR, anyone that didn’t prefer email wanted a fax instead of snail mail.
That said, if you’re targeting a specific reporter, send it to them. Otherwise, send it to the editor.
